A Unified Direction for Intellectual Property – Sweden’s Strategy for Innovation and Competitiveness

The Swedish government has presented A Unified Direction for Intellectual Property, a strategy aimed at strengthening Sweden’s innovation, creativity, and international competitiveness. The report highlights intellectual property as a key factor for economic growth, investment, and technological development.

The strategy focuses on three main areas: improving the strategic management of intellectual assets, increasing knowledge of intellectual property rights, and strengthening cooperation between public authorities, academia, and industry. The report also highlights investments in artificial intelligence, digitalization, and advanced research, while addressing challenges related to AI, copyright, piracy, and global competition.

IFIM welcomes the initiative and emphasizes the importance of stronger collaboration between academia, public authorities, and industry in shaping the future of innovation and intellectual property policy in Sweden.
